Subscribed channels: see and unsubscribe from WhatsApp channels
By the end: You'll know which channels your child follows, and can unsubscribe from an unsuitable one.
Before you start
- A paid plan — the card is locked on the free plan.
- Safy is connected to your child's WhatsApp.
WhatsApp channels are content channels your child follows, separate from chats and groups. In Safy you can see all the channels and unsubscribe from one.
Seeing the channels
In the "System Status" tab, on the "Subscribed Channels" card. Each channel shows its name and picture, and the number of channels appears next to the title.
Unsubscribing from a channel
- On the "Subscribed Channels" card, find the channel.
- Click "Unsubscribe".
- Confirm when asked.
The unsubscribe happens in your child's own WhatsApp account — the channel disappears from their phone too.
Analysing channel messages
By default Safy doesn't analyse channel messages, to save your daily allowance. You can turn it on in "Settings" → "System" → "Analyse Channels Messages". See System settings.
How to know it worked
After unsubscribing, the channel no longer appears on the "Subscribed Channels" card.
If it doesn't work
- The card is locked as available on paid plans? Channel management is available only on paid plans. See Account and subscription.
- The unsubscribe fails? Make sure WhatsApp is connected ("Connected" on the WhatsApp card) and try again.
- No channels listed? Your child doesn't follow any channels.
