Frequently asked questions
Where do I download Safy, and what computer do I need?
Download Safy from the download page on the website. It runs on a Windows or Mac computer; Mac needs macOS 12 or later. Safy installs on a computer only, not on a phone.
Does the computer need to stay on with the app open?
Yes. Safy monitors only while the computer is on and awake and the app is running. The window itself can be closed — Safy keeps running in the background. While the computer sleeps, monitoring stops, and Safy reconnects when it wakes up.
I didn't get a verification code — what should I check?
Check that the country code and phone number are correct. After 60 seconds you can request a new code, up to 3 times. Only the most recent code works, and it's valid for 5 minutes.
The QR code won't scan — what do I do?
Fully close WhatsApp on your child's phone, reopen it and scan again. Make sure both the phone and the computer are connected to the internet.
How do I know my child is connected and the system is working?
In the "System Status" tab, check that the "WhatsApp" card says "Connected", and that the latest-message time on the "Messages" card keeps updating.
WhatsApp disconnected — how do I reconnect?
Safy first tries to reconnect on its own. If that doesn't work, click "Restart WhatsApp Connection" and scan a new QR code from your child's phone, through "Linked Devices" in WhatsApp.
Why isn't any data showing after connecting?
After connecting, Safy loads the chat history, which can take a few minutes. Meanwhile the dashboard shows the "Prepare chats" indicator. Keep the computer on and Safy running until loading finishes.
Why didn't I get an alert?
Usually, no harmful content was detected. It's worth checking that WhatsApp is connected, the computer isn't asleep, and you haven't reached your daily analysis allowance.
Where can I see reports and summaries?
On the dashboard, in the "System Status" tab, you can choose a time range and see activity and alert data. Daily reports are available only on the Pro plan with a Safy-Box device.
Can I add another child or another parent, and how?
Yes. Add another child in Settings → "Children" → "Add Child", on a plan that allows more than one child. Add another parent's number in Settings → "Profile" — the other parent also receives alerts by SMS.
How do I update the app?
Safy downloads updates on its own. When an update is ready, click the Safy icon in the taskbar or menu bar and choose Restart to Install.
How do I manage my subscription and contact support?
Manage your subscription in your account on the website, under "Plan & subscription". You can cancel at any time, and the cancellation takes effect on your next billing date. For anything else, email us at info@safyai.com.
Do I need a credit card for the trial?
On a paid plan — yes. The plan is free for 14 days, and billing starts only after that. The free version needs no card: you get a 14-day Starter trial, and then the account moves to the free plan automatically.
How do I uninstall Safy from my computer?
Close Safy using Quit in the icon menu, and uninstall it like any other app. Then unlink it under "Linked Devices" in your child's WhatsApp. Uninstalling doesn't cancel your subscription.
How do I know which version is installed?
Click the Safy icon in the taskbar or menu bar. The version number is on the Version line. It also appears in the bottom corner of the dashboard.
How do I save my daily analysis allowance?
In the "Monitoring" tab, turn off monitoring for chats that don't need analysis, like the family group. Their messages are still saved, but they don't count toward the allowance.
How do I send logs to support?
Click the Safy icon, choose Advanced → Send Logs to Support, and wait for the "Logs Sent" message. Then email us at info@safyai.com with what happened.
