Choosing which chats to monitor and saving your analysis allowance
By the end: Safy analyses only the chats that matter, and your daily allowance goes further.
Before you start
- The first chat load has finished.
Every plan has a daily analysis allowance. Every analysed message counts. If the family group or another busy group sends lots of messages, it can use up the allowance before the chats that really matter.
Our recommendation: monitor what matters — class groups, chats with friends and chats with new people — and turn off monitoring for chats you trust, like the family group.
Turning off monitoring for a chat
- Go to the "Monitoring" tab.
- Find the chat in the list.
- Turn off its toggle in the "Monitoring" column.
Messages in a chat you turned off are still saved on the computer, but they aren't sent for analysis and don't count toward the allowance.
The "Monitor All Chats" toggle
- When it's on, every chat is monitored.
- Turning off any single chat turns it off automatically.
- New chats are monitored by default. It's worth revisiting the list from time to time.
More ways to save
- Keep "Analyse Channels Messages" off, unless it matters to you.
- "Track My Kid" also analyses the messages your child sends, which increases usage.
- You can see today's usage in "Settings" → "Plan".
How to know it worked
In the "Monitoring" tab, the toggle is off for the chats you chose, and the daily analysis counter rises more slowly.
If it doesn't work
- Still reaching the allowance? Turn off monitoring for more busy groups, or consider a plan with a higher allowance. See Account and subscription.
- The list is empty? After connecting, it can take up to 5 minutes.
- Not getting alerts from a certain chat? Check that its monitoring isn't turned off.
