The social graph: who your child talks to
By the end: You'll understand who your child is in touch with, in which groups, and what they talk about.
The social graph shows the people your child talks to most, and the groups they share. The size of each circle reflects the amount of conversation.
Opening the graph
- On the dashboard, click the social graph button at the top of the screen.
- Your child's "Social graph" window opens.
The graph also opens on its own once, right after the first chat load finishes.
What the graph shows
- Circles — the five most active private contacts, and the groups they share with your child.
- Insights — three short insights: when your child is most active, the main chat, and a notable signal. They're based on the last 30 days, or 7 days when there are few messages.
Details about a contact or group
- Click a circle in the graph.
- A details panel opens.
- Peak activity — morning, afternoon, evening or night.
- Your child's involvement — how many of the messages in the chat your child sent.
- What they talk about — up to six topics, from automatic analysis.
- Concerns found — if any were detected, with a risk level: low, medium or high.
You can drag the circles to rearrange the graph. To close it, click "Let's Go".
How to know it worked
The "Social graph" window opens, and clicking a circle shows the chat's details.
If it doesn't work
- The graph button is grey? The graph isn't available while chats are loading. Wait for loading to finish.
- The graph is empty or shows few people? At first there aren't many messages yet. The graph fills in over time.
